Renton, WA – Activists Disrupt Hotel Hosting Seattle Fur Exchange Guests

Renton, WA – On evening of Sunday, March 13th, activists from across the Northwest surprised furriers from all over the world at their hotel in Renton, WA. With bullhorns, literature on the horrors of the fur farming, and information on the hidden slave trade occurring in Seattle’s backyard, animal activists exposed the responsible parties to the public and disrupted their otherwise covert stay.

From across 20 countries, fur farmers, fashion designers, and storeowners meet in Renton, WA to conduct business at the Seattle Fur Exchange. The Exchange (now American Legend Auction) is the largest trading auction of animal pelts in North America and is longest running fur auction in the world.

Needless to say, it is a crucial nexus point in the international fur trade, and it all occurs in our supposedly progressive NW home,” says Activists. “The sustainability of the fur trade hinges on continued success of the Seattle Fur Exchange. The businessmen in town bear the responsibility for the murder of 50 million animals per year. Not to disrupt their affairs would be letting the guilty go exempt for their crimes.”
